The International Organization for Migration is seeking qualified Nepali Nationals for the following positions based in Kathmandu.

Position Title: Budget Assistant -2 positions
Classification: SAI, 3 months with possibility of extension, ungraded (equivalent to Grade –4)
General functions:
Under the overall supervision of Senior Resources Management Officer and direct supervision of Administrative and Finance Officer (Earthquake Response), in close coordination with the Earthquake Response Manager, Team Leaders and other support staff, , the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for providing necessary support in matters of financial, budgetary, and other reporting function of the assigned projects.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Carry out standard/routine finance and budgetary tasks for the assigned projects in accordance with IOM’s rules and regulations;
2. Assist the Administrative and Finance Officer (Earthquake Response) in monitoring budget and expenditures including:
a. Monitor budget implementation/expenditures with respect to various budgets/cost-sharing on a regular basis;
b. Maintain record of all project expenditures and customize financial reports from IOM’s accounting system (PRISM);
c. Implement reallocations of resources as necessary
3. Assist in compliance matter. Ensure that budget implementation/expenditures are managed according IOM’s Rules and Regulations and respective donors for the assigned projects;
4. Assist in budget development. Prepare budget performance submissions and finalization of financial report. Raise any discrepancy to the attention of the supervisor in the timely manner;
5. Assist in verifying all payment requests to ensure that proper project codes (WBS) are being charged correctly;
6. Assist in projectization (cost allocation) of the monthly payroll, adjusting salary expenditures according to budget performance and staff’s terms of reference related to the assigned projects;
7. Perform the PRISM role as assigned to ensure and enhance the segregation of duties;
8. Assist in the auditing preparation and process; ensure that the auditor’s and the Fund Manager’s recommendation is follow-up properly.
9. Provide technical supports, offer guidance to the field sub-offices on matters related to project administrative and efficient resource management matters.
10. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
