Support the reporting chef in the daily operation and work according to the instructions of Superiors;
Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules set by the hotel;
Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks;
Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation;
Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control;
Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes;
Create new and exciting cakes, pastries and desserts to refresh hotel menus and engage the interest of customers;
Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be modern, beautiful, exciting and appetizing;
Ensure the highest possible standard of presentation & cleanliness in all areas of the Kitchen (both in the Kitchen itself and the front of house & back of house areas);
Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station;
Work closely with the reporting chef to assist with developing and refreshing menus for event function.
Job Specification
Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role
Great attention to detail and creativity
Willingness to replenish professional knowledge.
In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition.
Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations
Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field would be a plus.
