Job Description

Position Title : Audio Visual Technician  

Location : Antenna Foundation Nepal, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur

Salary: As mentioned in an appointment letter

Line Manager/reporting: ICT Coordinator  

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Be overall responsible for Technical work for radio program production (live and recorded).
  • Manage studio and its accessories available during recording of Radio programs.
  • Explore new ICT tools for maximizing effectiveness of AFN activities
  • Operate audio consoles, computers, tape machines, microphones and sound processing   equipment to mix, combine and edit radio programs
  • Provide support to use social media and maintaining AFN website
  • Provide technical support during outdoor recording
  • Conduct routine and diagnostic checks of office equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance of all office equipment including networking.  
  • Maintain records regarding equipment repair
  • Install electric wiring components
  • Estimate equipment budgets as when necessary
  • Ensure smooth distribution of radio programs to radios through CIN and Internet streaming
  • Ensure smooth functioning of Internet, Toll Free and IVR
  • Ensure studio, and equipment are clean and safe
  • Maintain logbook of studio use on daily basis
  • Regular supervision and maintenance of UPS and generator
  • Maintain a regular log-book equipment use, including generator.
  • Perform any other tasks necessary and as directed by Supervisor

 

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum a Bachelor degree in Information and Communication, Science & Technology or any related discipline with specific experience related to Broadcast Technology.
  • Capacity for engaging and motivating team members effectively & efficiently towards their roles and responsibilities in the organization; including the ability to mentor and build their capacity on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent planning skills with an ability to promptly respond during ad-hoc requirements.
  • Knowledge about changing Media landscape and ability to design innovative programs to address new challenges would be an asset.
  • Fluency in Nepali and English with excellent writing skills in both languages.
