Job Description

CARE Nepal is an international humanitarian organization working in the country for the past 37 years. It currently works in 36 districts through various programs on issues relating to improving the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable populations through programs that work on the following themes: food security and climate change; emergency preparedness and DRR; migration and urbanization; sexual reproductive and maternal health; gender based violence; women and girls’ leadership. Marginalized Women and Adolescent Girls are our two primary impact groups. Core priorities include investment in the empowerment and leadership of women and girls, good governance and accountability, working in partnership and alliance with like-minded actors, and evidence-based advocacy.

CARE Nepal hereby invites applications from interested candidates for the following full time positions for the new phase of SAMMAN for a period of 3 years. The Strengthening Approaches for Maximizing Maternal, Neonatal, and Reproductive Health (SAMMAN) Project aims to improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes by strengthening and increasing effectiveness of frontline Health Workers (HWs) to positively impact maternal, neonatal, and child health (MNCH) goals. The three-year Project will start from October 2015 and will end in September 2018 to build on existing activities undertaken during the first Phase and extend the same to new project districts to help address disparities that exist in access to quality Maternal & Neo-natal Child Health services. The project will be implemented only for two years in the old districts where the first phase of the project was implemented (Doti, Dadeldhura and Kailali), whereas the project will be implemented for 3 years in Kavre and Sindhuli.

Administrative Assistant (Based in Kavre)

Key responsibilities:

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for effective asset management together with managing secretarial and related administrative functions of PeopleSoft for the project Office based in Kavre. This includes maintaining/improving smooth functioning of CARE Nepal’s communications, mailing, archiving and filing systems; provides administrative and secretarial support as required. In addition s/he is responsible for handling confidential correspondences. S/he provides guidance for the day to day asset management functions ensuring its proper record and maintenance in the project.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Intermediate (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in Business Administration with minimum 1 year relevant experiences
