Job Description

  • Oversee all aspects of the project’s administrative and financial management;
  • Ensure the project’s full compliance with all UN and UNDP rules, regulations, operational policies and procedures;   
  • Ensure effective and accurate financial resource management;
  • Assist CTA in providing necessary information to prepare annual and quarterly work plan and reports; 
  • Prepare and consolidate the overall budget, monitor expenditure in accordance with UNDP’s financial rules and cost recovery policies and implement adequate internal control;
  • Prepare all necessary documentation for the project’s operations, including annual and quarterly work plans, procurement, human resources and audit plans, financial and delivery reports and maintain all administrative files of the project;
  • Oversee all aspects of the project’s procurement, contracting of consultants and services and management of grants;  
  • Manage annual audit exercises, prepare audit follow-up action plans, and ensure that the action plan is implemented.
  • Manage the project’s assets, including inventory;
  • Prepare trial balance, bank reconciliation statements and status of fund on a monthly basis ensuring accuracy of the statements and books of accounts and prepare periodic Financial Reports;
  • Ensure that vehicle log books are systematically maintained by the Driver, vehicles are in proper condition and office supplies are well stocked and properly accounted;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Job Specification

Education:

  • Completion of Master’s degree in Management, Business Administration or related field from a recognized university.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in project administration and financial accounting is required.
  • Demonstrated experience of preparing audits to international standards is required.
  • Previous experience of supervising a team is required.
  • Previous work experience with UNDP or other United Nations agencies is desirable.
  • Prior experience of managing a multi-donor trust fund is desirable.
  • Prior experience of working in electoral assistance or similarly time-sensitive fields is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of UNDP operational policies and procedures is desirable.

Language requirment:

  • Fluency in oral and written English and Nepali is required.

Others:

  • Good knowledge of office computer application such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint is required.
  • Knowledge of the UNDP Enterprise Management System (ATLAS) is desirable
