Job Description

Knowledge

  • Complete and excellent knowledge on financial management and accounting, stock management, taxation, procurement and maintaining cash flow.
  • Developed understanding of financial transparency and social audits.
  • Understanding of voluntary commitment and of organizational needs of a membership organisation.
  • Knowledge of Amnesty International and interest in, and personal commitment to the full range of human rights.

Skills and experiences

  • At least 5 years experience of working in financial management.
  • Proven ability to prepare journal entries, general ledgers, cash books, bank reconciliations and financial reports.
  • Strong experience of preparing income and expenditure account, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
  • Experience of administering accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Strong experience of procurement processes, stock management, tax administration and physical verification and re-valuation of fixed assets.
  • Excellent experience of preparing pay-rolls and administering it.
  • Strong experience of developing internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Ability to develop and monitor budgets and excellent experience of budgetary control.
  • Proven ability of preparing and coordination of the internal and external auditing processes.
  • Excellent communications skills in English and Nepali, both written and verbal;
  • Experience of using accounting software and databases.
  • Experience of holding capacity building initiatives in financial management 
  • Experience of writing and producing motivating and inspiring financial reports.
  • Ability to quickly identify and understand relevant information to exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in high pressured environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment with appropriate sensitivity to differences of culture, gender and physical ability.
  • Willingness to undertake personal administrative tasks in accordance with the guidelines on self-servicing.

Academic Background

  • Bachelors degree in financial management.
